VIDEO SLIDE SESSIONS STARTING AUGUST 2010!
The Slide Sessions started out as a once a month gig in NYC. I had a guest slide player come in each month to trade songs with me, duel it up on the slide of their choice, and generally have a foot-stompin’ good time! We played bottleneck slide, lap steel, and dobro. Lots of spontaneous stuff happened and it gave me an awesome chance to play with and learn from some of my favorite players. Guests included: Brooks Williams, Beaucoup Blue, Jim Henry, Cliff Eberhardt, Natalia Zuckerman, Pete Kennedy, Steve Kirkman, Pat Wictor, Robert Hill and more.
Through my travels, I’ve made so many friends with so many great slide players across the country. And the interest in this little project of mine went far beyond NYC. So, I’ve decided to take The Slide Sessions to a whole new level and make it a video podcast! As I travel across the country, I’ll make podcasts of duets with slide players and post them here, probably about one episode a month. You’ll get to see the backstage view, on location, up close and personal.
