The stars have aligned just enough to bring me a lap steel of my own over eBay! I was borrowing Steve Kirkman's for awhile, but now I have my very own "mother-of-toilet-seat" Harmony lap steel. Steve helped me clean it up and even stuck a strap peg in it so I can stand up and play (so much for the "lap" part, eh?).

The big news is that Anthony and I were selected as FINALISTS in the Independent Music World Series and will be competing against five other acts on August 14th at Crash Mansion in NYC. Whoo hoo! I intend to bring my new toy (the lapsteel) and we've also invited Emily Price to join us, the woman who played such beautiful cello on Bad Nights/Better Days.

We've also got a house concert in Asbury Park this coming Sunday 8/10. It's the last full duo gig we've got scheduled for the year (so far), so if you wanna hear these songs live come on down.
